The header image conveys the overall purpose of this part of the website. It conveys a space of love, created through people (as shown in the two human hands creating a heart). This relates to meeting the information needs of my target audience by relaying the overall theme of the one thing I want my target audience to gain: love. Through this part of the website, I want the audience to feel loved and a sense of belonging. The images of the yellow grid and the transparent hands forming a heart were found on a website called Unsplash. I knew that I was allowed to reuse them because Unsplash is a website that provides common creatives. To create the overall header, I used some tips and tricks from Manovich’s article to create a multi-layer image. Some of the image editing techniques I used were transparency, blurring, adjusting the lighting and overall exposure effects. I added the hand-heart picture above the yellow grid picture, first, so that I can edit it directly and not have it be overpowered by the yellow grid. My production process was quite different to Davison’s single-layer bitmap image. Davison’s bitmap concept is based on mouse-driven programs. However, I didn’t create my pictures through hand. I collected the images from a site that had already been created from other people. However, the similarity that was evident was that both my images and Davison’s examples were examples of a two-dimensional presentation.

If you care about our Earth and the freshwater it provides us, give the podcast above a listen! There is a lot of information on what freshwater exactly is, how it impacts our daily lives, and some vital steps you can take to help prevent the decreasing of the finite source. The information was attained from http://worldwildlife.org in which you can find the numerous other environmental factors you can help sustain. Catherine (Catie) Geller and Angela Marquez give a brief PSA in my podcast about the topics of oceans and climate change to give light to some other ways in which you can help improve our environment, with World Wild Life. You can also learn about the two other major systems WWF has to offer some information on, through Manuela George and Nicholas Rossi. Catherine’s website, titled “Catie’s Classic Cinema” can be found at https://catiesclassiccinema.wordpress.com/. Angela’s website, titled “Angela’s Rhythmic Adventures” can be found at http://rhythmicadventures.music.blog. Manuela’s website, titled “Manuela’s Fashion Closet can be found at https://manuelasfashioncloset.wordpress.com/. Lastly, Nicholas’ website, titled “On the Banks” can be found at https://onbnks.wordpress.com/. All of these peers have relating podcasts on the information of systems in our world that we can help sustain, such as the oceans, climate change, food, and forests. We all used https://www.worldwildlife.org/ as our main source of information. I hope everyone who comes across this blog gets inspired from all the podcasts some of my peers and I have to offer and join us in saving our planet, one person at a time! Thank you.

The first meme of Will Smith holding a camera relates to my topic and target audience of photography and art in which anyone so eager as Will Smith in the picture is always welcomed to share their content on this site. The pony gif that goes from sad to happy, goes along with my topic and target audience in the sense that those who visit my website, I always want them to leave with a bright smile on their face. Also, I want anyone who is just having a bad day to come to this website and look through the motivational quotes and art to help brighten their day up a little bit. Lastly, the picture with the words is relevant to my audience because of the motivational words that are in the picture. This website is here to push someone to take that step, to keep moving forward, in which the last meme captures perfectly. Davison states that an ideal is “the concept or idea conveyed. The ideal dictates the behavior, which in turn creates the manifestation” (p. 123). With that said, the ideal of the first picture is an overly excited dude enjoying the outdoors, maybe there’s also a poking fun aspect, making fun of tourists who do this. The pony meme’s ideal is a sad pony turning happy due to an outside factor. Lastly, the meme with the words has an ideal of sarcasm in a sense, to poke fun at the way people will try to make a motivational quote out of almost anything. The behaviors of the Will Smith meme was from an episode of “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” in which someone uploaded a snippet on Twitter and people started to use it for other memes, by comparing the ecstatic face to a dull, sad face (https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/will-smith-with-a-camera). The behaviors of the motivational quote meme was created from an already used hashtag called #MondayMotivation in which people would use for mainly marketing and fitness related uploads on social media (https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/mondaymotivation). The manifestations of all these memes are from pixels. Because they were all photos or digitally created, pixels were the main source in which pieced these memes together. They are different from say a drawing of a meme in which that would not have been made from pixels, but rather from mere pencils/graphite. The specific manifestations I have chosen can appeal to my target audience because it is something they are familiar with; my website is completely made of pixels and photographs are especially similar in the sense that the first meme was a photograph.
